Dans la seconde moiti\u00e9 du 16\u00e8me si\u00e8cle, avec l&#8217;introduction des techniques de culture \u00e0 l&#8217;aide de chevaux, un style de maison priv\u00e9e avec une forme unique de la r\u00e9gion \u00ab Nanbu Magariya \u00bb est n\u00e9, o\u00f9 les gens et les chevaux vivaient sous le m\u00eame toit, par respect pour le cheval en tant que membre de la famille.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><br>Bas\u00e9 sur l\u2019esprit d\u2019amour pour les chevaux ainsi cultiv\u00e9, le jour de Tango No Sekku (F\u00eate des gar\u00e7ons, le 5 Mai) associ\u00e9 aux chevaux dans le calendrier lunaire est devenu le seul jour de repos pendant la haute saison agricole o\u00f9 les gens ont commenc\u00e9 \u00e0 visiter les sanctuaires Sozen et Komagata, divinit\u00e9s gardiennes des chevaux, afin d&#8217;apaiser les chevaux bien fatigu\u00e9s et de prier pour leur bonne sant\u00e9. Cette pratique est devenue connue pour une coutume sous le nom de \u00ab Osozen Mairi \u00bb. Apr\u00e8s avoir rendu hommage au sanctuaire Onikoshi Sozen dans la ville de Takizawa, un cort\u00e8ge a \u00e9t\u00e9 form\u00e9 pour pr\u00e9senter des chevaux au centre \u00e9questre du sanctuaire Morioka Hachimangu, ce qui a \u00e9t\u00e9 tr\u00e8s bien accueilli. D\u00e8s l&#8217;ann\u00e9e suivante, c&#8217;est devenu une tradition de marcher jusqu&#8217;au sanctuaire Morioka Hachimangu apr\u00e8s la pri\u00e8re.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Environ 60 chevaux d\u00e9filent du sanctuaire Onikoshi Sozen au sanctuaire Morioka Hachimangu, parcourant un trajet de 14 km en 5 heures environ. Ce type de festival \u00e9tant rare dans le monde, il a \u00e9t\u00e9 d\u00e9sign\u00e9 en 1978, comme bien culturel populaire immat\u00e9riel par l&#8217;Agence pour les Affaires culturelles.<br>Le nom Chagu Chagu Umakko tire son origine du son des 700 grandes et petites clochettes attach\u00e9es aux costumes scintillants port\u00e9s par les chevaux qui sonnent chagu chagu (une sorte d&#8217;onomatop\u00e9e en japonais).
